The following features are observed for conversion to hiragana:
- Correct handling of doubled constants with a small tsu will take place
(e.g. "massugu", or "straight on", becomes まっすぐ)
- A lone "m" in roomaji will be transcribed as a ん (e.g. "komban", or "tonight", becomes こんばん).
- A double "oo" in roomaji will have the second "o" transcribed as a "u" (e.g. "ohayoo", or "good morning", becomes おはよう)
- Handling of small "yo", "ya", and "yu"s (e.g. "ja, mata.", or "see you later.", becomes じゃ、 また。)
- Commas become Japanese commas (e.g. "," becomes 、)
- Full stops become Japanese end-of-sentence markers (e.g. "." becomes 。)
- Spaces become Japanese spaces
- Particles on their own (with whitespace either side) are translated from "o" to "wo", "e" to "he", "wa" to "ha" (e.g. "watashi wa eki e ikimasu.", or "I am going to the station." becomes わたし は えき へ いきます。)
- The "tzu" in roomaji is mapped to づ

- A lone "m" in roomaji will be transcribed as a ン
- A double vowel in roomaji will have the second vowel transcribed as ー (e.g. "koohii", or "coffee", becomes コーヒー)
- Handling of small "yo", "ya", and "yu"s (e.g. "juusu", or "juice", becomes ジュース)
- Commas become Japanese commas (e.g. "," becomes 、)
- Full stops become Japanese end-of-sentence markers (e.g. "." becomes 。)
- The "tzu" in roomaji is mapped to ヅ
